About WVMTA
Founded WVMTA was founded in November, 1966 in Morgantown, WV.
Purpose WVMTA is committed to advancing the value of music study and music making to society and to supporting the professionalism of music teachers.
IRS Status WVMTA is classified as a 501(c)(3) educational association.
Membership WVMTA is comprised of over 100 independent and collegiate music teachers of all instruments including voice. Student members are collegiate-level students who are teaching and/or interested in teaching professionally.
Structure WVMTA is comprised of six local associations (districts) and three collegiate chapters. It is affiliated with Music Teachers National Association, which is divided into 51 state organizations, including the District of Columbia.
Governance The Administrative Board is composed of: President, President Elect, Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, District Chairs, Newsletter Editor, Certification Chair, and the Arts Advocacy and Awareness Chair. |
