WVMTA Awards System
POINTS - Students accumulating points are awarded trophies at the District level. One (1) point is always awarded as follows:
a. Performance AND participation in theme activity at Fall Festival
b. Performance at Spring Adjudicated Performance - Solo
c. Performance at Spring Adjudicated Performance - Ensemble
d. WVMTA Theory Test
e. WVMTA Technic Test
f. Performance at MTNA State, Division, or National Competitions
g. Performance at WVMTA Mountain State or other state sanctioned Performance Competitions
h. Participation in MTNA or WVMTA Mountain State Student Composition Competitions (including State, Division, or National levels)
i. Participation in District-Sanctioned Event(s)
j. Participation in other state-sanctioned events such as: practical examinations / theory examinations / history examinations / pedagogy examinations (each worth one point), and Adagio Strings Competition
Points become trophies!
Trophies are awarded at the following levels:
• 6 points - small trophy
• 12 points - medium trophy
• 18 points - large trophy
• 24 points - small plaque
• 30 points - medium plaque
• 36 points - large plaque
• 42 points - small 2-column trophy
• 48 points - medium 2-column trophy
• 54 points - large 2-column trophy
• 62 points - bronze medal
• 69 points - silver medal
• 75 points - gold medal
