West Virginia Music Teachers Association (WVMTA) is a state affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Founded in 1876 by Theodore Presser in Delaware, Ohio, MTNA currently serves 25,000 independent music teachers in the pursuit of excellence in music teaching. 

WVMTA celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016! WVMTA and its local chapters strive to advance the value of music study and music making in society and to support the professionalism of music teachers.
